Conservation in January

As we wrap up the first month of 2024, we are excited to share the conservation initiatives of the Arkaba team for the month.

In January the team spent time working on revegetation of several areas around the Homestead following storms in late 2023 and lasting effects of sheep and goats on the property. Out team are working through planting over 100 Indigenous trees across the property over the coming months led by Our Conservation Manager, Bruce Lawson.

We spotted a number of new bird species due to heavy rains over the month including Galahs, Crested Pigeons and of course everyone’s favourite, emus.

In the month of January, the Homestead recycled over 192kgs of plastic and glass bottles, cans and general plastic that would usually go to landfill.
