We just spent 3 days in Arkaba and it was an amazing experience! You have nothing to take care of: it was a tier one service from the reservation, to the hosting, to the comparable Michelin-style food, to the safari excursions. You spend three days surrounded by kangaroos everywhere in a stunning nature setting. I will definitely go back there when I am back in Australia!

The excursions were fabulous, we saw so much. Seeing the sunrise, the sunset, Elders ranges, Wilpena pound - all was great. I'm not sure if we would have seen, or done as much if we'd stayed elsewhere & tried to do it ourselves. The knowledge of our guides was great - it showed in their work. It was wonderful that at the end of each excursion we were met with a freshly made cool drink & wet hand towels - a nice touch after the heat & dust!
I can't say enough about the meals, presentation & taste - WOW!! Every dish was perfect. Both the chefs deserve a huge thank you! Portion size was spot on - we always had more than enough to eat at each meal (my husband loves his food). i should comment on the excellent range of beverages including great Aussie wines & beers.
All the staff were friendly & very helpful.
Flinders ranges & Wilpena Pound should be on everyone's must see list - so beautiful & definitely worth the drive. Just loved it - I highly recommend staying at Arkaba

You might come to Arkaba for the wild, open spaciousness of the outback, the sense of being far away from everything, the chance to dine under the stars. But your presence here is not just about you. It's helping to fund a transformation ... returning the land to its natural state, and turning a 150-year-old sheep station into a private wildlife reserve

There’s no phone signal. No Wi-Fi. The isolation and the presence of an expert guide ensures swift immersion in the fascinating ecology and human history of the ranges.

Stayed for 4 nights, with variety of sunrise and sunset guided drives, good walks, stunning landscapes and lots of native animals (esp kangaroos)and birds. All inclusive dining by resident chefs provided 1st class meals. Communal dining gave an opportunity to meet other guests from other places in the world. All staff, guides (Mel especially) we’re friendly & informative. Location of the homestead with limited number of guests as well as large surrounding land meant it was peaceful but allowed exploring of Wilpena Sound and the Flinders Ranges.Highly recommended.

Today, the sheep are gone and the stone homestead offers a level of luxury and comfort that those early settlers would never have imagined.
